Last week we discussed the crippling affect of Entitlement and how it is a behavior we must SKIP in order to Jump into who we are as women in Christ.  The first step to skipping entitlement is to admit you have feelings of entitlement.   Mark Twain put it best when he say, “Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.”  Being honest with yourself is one of the most liberating practices you can instill in your life! When you identify the problem, you are free to overcome it.

“Don’t go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.”  -Mark Twain

Skip entitlement and Jump into a Servants Attitude.  Most of us have a hard enough time doing our own job,  let alone helping others with theirs.  It is so easy to walk by a need when it is not on your job description.  Often we justify that it is not our responsibility, so we blindly walk by without even noting the need.

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant” – Jesus (Matthew 20:26)

Encourage others to help you as you serve, be counter cultural in the way that you make an effort to fill others needs!  Make your life a mission, not an intermission. As we begin to change our attitude about what we should and shouldn’t do, others will see our example and follow suit.  If they don’t, don’t give up; just continue to encourage them along the way.

Be sure to join me next week to get more practical advice from my book “3 Skips and a Jump”.  The way to move through life is to skip over the things that control and cripple us, and to take a jump into the future!
